Position Title: DCS Engineer
Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of this position include:
-DCS Monitoring and Control: Oversee the operation of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) to maintain plant performance and stability.
-System Configuration: Configure, update, and optimize DCS parameters for steam turbines, generators, cooling towers, and auxiliary systems.
-SCADA Management: Monitor and troubleshoot SCADA systems, ensuring real-time data availability and operational efficiency.
-System Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues in DCS, PLC and associated instrumentation promptly to minimize downtime.
-Preventive Maintenance: Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules for DCS hardware and software components.
-Control Logic Development: Design and implement control logic for processing automation and safety interlocks.
-Documentation: Maintain detailed records of DCS modifications, software updates, and maintenance activities.
-Training and Coordination: Train operators and junior staff on DCS functionalities and coordinate with other departments for seamless plant operations.
Key Skills and Competencies:
-Proficiency in DCS Systems (e.g., ABB, Siemens and Bently Nevada etc).
-Strong understanding of thermal power plant processes and equipment.
-Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
-Knowledge of SCADA systems and their integration with plant operations.
-Familiarity with 132kV switchyard and electrical system protection.
Qualification: B.Sc./B.E. in Electronics Engineering
Experience: 4 – 5 years in a steam turbines thermal power plant environment, with hands-on expertise in DCS, PLC and SCADA systems.
Location: Cogeneration Power Plant at Rahim Yar Khan
